The hadith says "All actions depends upon intentions."

It is sometimes interpreted to mean that good intentions justify bad deeds too and turn sins meritorious. This is entirely wrong. Sin is always a sin no matter how noble the intention may be. For instance if someone breaks into a house to steal with the intention of giving away as alms whatever he would steal would be a thief deserving the prescribed punishment. His good intentions would not earn him any merit nor would his sin be pardoned.

What this hadith means is as follows:

1. A good deed earns merit only if done with right intention. For instance prayer would earn merit only when one prays only for Divine pleasure; if one prays to impress others, then, instead of earning merit, it would earn punishment.

2. The second interpretation which is germane to the present discussion is that all lawful deeds actually earn neither merit nor punishment, but if these are done with good intent, they become acts of worship and earn merit. For instance eating is lawful; but if one eats with the intention that food shall give him energy and that energy he shall spend in the service of Allah, the act of eating would earn merit. Similarly if one eats with the intent that his physical body too has its rights and dues which include nourishment through eating or if one eats with the intent of getting pleasure and taste and of thanking Allah for these, the eating become an act of merit.

There is no lawful deed of life, which if done with good intent, does not become act of merit.

A few instances shall elucidate the point further:

(a) Honest earning, whether by trade or service or industry or agriculture, if done with the intent of rightly fulfilling the duties enjoined by Allah toward oneself and one's family, would become an act of merit. Then if one further intends to spend whatever he may save after fulfilling the needs of himself and his family in helping the poor and in other similar good deeds, he would earn further merit.

(b) When a person engaged in learning intends to serve the humanity through his knowledge he would go on earning merit as long as he remains engaged in acquisition of knowledge. For instance a student of religion may decide to propagate the faith, a medical student to alleviate human suffering due to disease, an engineering student to serve his people through his specialised knowledge etc. all these acts would become acts of merit because of the intention which motivates the doer.

(c) A man, knowing that sustenance and subsistence is the responsibility of Allah which He shall fulfil without fail, engages is a particular profession or vocation with a view to serve humanity, his profession would earn him merit.

For instance if someone enters the medical profession consciously choosing it form among other professions in order to cure the sick, he would earn merit even if he charges for his services. Such a man would not hesitate to provide free treatment for the poor and the destitute.

A cloth merchant who enters this profession to provide clothes to people because clothing onself is a religious duty, would also earn merit.

Similarly a government servant, motivated by a desire to serve the common man and fulfil his needs, would earn merit. Thus every profession, becomes meritorious, provided the intention is right.

(c) If one dresses in finery not to show off his status or wealth, but to afford pleasure to others, it is an act of merit.

(d) If one treats his children with love because it is a sunnah of our etemally blessed Prophet, it earns him merit.

(c) If one does the household chores because this too is a sunnah as our etemally blessed Prophet helped in the housework, it merits rewards in the Afterlife.

(f) Loving conversation with wife and children is a sunnah and the eternally blessed Prophet has so ordained, hence such an act is also meritorious if done to follow the sunnah.

(g) Hospitality to guests, if shown in pursuance of sunnah is an act of merit.

(h) Planting a sapling or plant in the house so that it may one day be of use of some man or animal and please the onlooker would be a good deed.

(i) Writing a beautiful and legible hand to make it easy for the reader to read is an act of merit.

(j) If a woman dresses herself in beautiful raiment and wears ornaments and adorns herself to please her husband and if a man remains clean and neat to please his wife, both are good deeds.

(k) If permissible recreation is indulged in to the extent needed to prepare oneself for duties it is a meritorious act.

(1) If a watch is kept to know prayer timings and to realize the value of time which is intended to be spent in good deeds, it is an act that earns merit.

There are a few common examples from everyday life which can earn much merit for the doer. Imam Ghazali has rightly observed in his Ihya'-al'ulum that there is no lawful action in human life which, if done with the right intent, cannot be changed into an act of merit. Even if husband and wife give mutual pleasure to each other, each with the intent of giving the other his or her due and making them pure this too would give them merit.

*source : http://www.themodernreligion.com/basic/charac/easy/intention.html

pay attention

<img style="DISPLAY: block; Read on and make up your own mind:
1) The total number of victims inside all the hi- jacked planes was 254. >2 + 5 + 4 = 11.
2) September 11 is day number 254 of the calendar year. Again 2 + 5 + 4 = 11.
3) The Madrid bombing took place on 3/11/ 2004. 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 4 = 11.
4) The tragedy of Madrid happened 911 days after the Twin Towers incident.

Now this is where things get totally eerie:

The most recognised symbol for the US, after the Stars & Stripes, is the Eagle. The following verse is taken from the Quran, the Islamic holy book:

"For it is written that a son of Arabiawould awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced: for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah and there was peace."

That verse is number 9.11 of the Quran.

Still uncovinced about all of this..?! Try this and see how you feel afterwards, it made my hair stand onend:

Open Microsoft Word and do the following(TRY THIS FOR REAL)

1. Type in capitals Q33 NY. This is the flight number of the first plane to hit one of the Twin Towers.
2. Highlight the Q33 NY
3. Change the font size to 48.
4. Change the actual font to the WINGDINGS1

scary huh?"

--> i'm sorry, but that mail is more like stupid. people are reading more into it than needed. non-muslim friends have been coming up to me and asking about this. that verse from the Qur'an is false. not true. wrong. Sir Mark was, i guess, glad. but before he dismissed the class, he told us that Michaelangelo answered this question with another question...as to what that question is, that will be our homework. (so far, this is the most enjoyable homework i've ever done! *lafs*)

artists of Michaelangelo's time noticed the young depiction of the Blessed Virgin and started questioning Michaelangelo about this. the artist answered their questions with this: "Do you not know that chaste women stay fresh much more than those who are not chaste? How much more in the case of the Virgin, who had never experienced the least lascivious desire that might change her body?"

Pietà

(by Michaelangelo)

* to see a bigger picture: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8a/Michelangelo's_Pieta_5450_cropncleaned.jpg

woman, thou must read

in November, a rare kind of breast cancer was found. A lady developed a rash on her breast, similar to that of young mothers who are nursing. because her mammogram had been clear, the doctor treated her with antibiotics for infections. after 2 rounds, it continued to get worse, so her doctor sent her for another mammogram. this time it showed a mass. a biopsy found a fast growing malignancy. Chemo was started in order to shrink the growth; then a mastectomy was perfor med; then a full round of Chemo; then radiation. after about 9 months of intense treatment, she was given a clean bill of health. she had one year of living each day to its fullest. then the cancer returned to the liver area. she took 4 treatments and decided that she wanted quality of life, not the after effects of Chemo. she had 5 great months and she planned each detail of the final days. after a few days of needing morphine, she died. she left this message to be delivered to women everywhere:

women, PLEASE be alert to anything that is not normal, and be persistent in getting help as soon as possible.

Paget's Disease: This is a rare form of breast cancer, and is on the outside of the breast, on the nipple and aureole It appeared as a rash, which later became a lesion with a crusty outer edge. I would not have ever suspected it to be breast cancer but it was. My nipple never seemed any different to me, but the rash bothered me, so I went to the doctor for that. Sometimes, it itched and was sore, but other than that it didn't bother me. It was just ugly and a nuisance, and could not be cleared up with all the creams prescribed by my doctor and dermatologist for the dermatitis on my eyes just prior to this outbreak. They seemed a little concerned but did not warn me i t could be cancerous.
Now, I suspect not many women out there know a lesion or rash on the nipple or aureole can be breastcancer. Mine started out as a single red pimple on the aureole. One of the biggest problems with Paget's disease of the nipple is that the symptoms appear to be harmless. It is frequently thought to be a skin inflammationor infection, leading to unfortunate de lays in detection and care.
What are the symptoms?1. A persistent redness, oozing, and crusting of your nipple causing it to itch and burn (As I stated, mine did not itch or burn much, and had no oozing I was aware of, but it did have a crust along the outer edge on one side.)2. A sore on your nipple that will not heal. (Mine was on the aureole area with a whitish thick looking area in center of nipple).3. Usually only one nipple is effected. How is it diagnosed? Your doctor will do a physical exam and should suggest having a mammogram of both breasts, done immediately. Even though the redness, oozing and crusting closely resemble dermatitis (inflammation of the skin), your doctor should suspect cancer if the sore is only on one breast. Your doctor should order a biopsy of your sore to confirm what is going on.

This message should be taken seriously and passed on to as many of your relatives and friends as possible; it could save someone's life.My breast cancer has spread and metastasized to my bones after receiving mega doses of chemotherapy, 28 treatments of radiation and taking Tamaxofin. If this had been diagnosed as breast cancer in the beginning, perhaps it would not have spread...

TO ALL READERS: This is sad as women are not aware of Paget's disease. If, by passing this around on the e-mail, we can make others aware of it and its potential danger, we are helping women everywhere. Please, if you can, take a moment to forward this message to as many people as possible, especially to your family and friends. It only takes a moment, yet the results could save a life.
<img width='1' height='1' criminals are installing equipment on legitimate bank ATMs in at least 2 regions to steal both the ATM card number and the PIN.

the team sits nearby in a car receiving the information transmitted wirelessly over weekends and evenings from equipment they install on the front of the ATM (see photos). if you see an attachment like this, do not use the ATM and report it immediately to the bank using the phone on the front of the ATM.

the equipment used to capture your ATM card number and PIN are cleverly disguised to look like normal ATM equipment. a "skimmer" is mounted to the front of the normal ATM card slot that reads the ATM card number and transmits it to the criminals sitting in a nearby car. at the same time, a wireless camera is disguised to look like a leaflet holder and is mounted in a position to view ATM PIN entries. the thieves copy the cards and use the PIN numbers to withdraw thousands from many accounts in a very type='text'>here's how it went

second day of second sem. and the profs are sort of not in the mood to start classes--they might as well have been informed that so too are their students. imagine the inconvenience they cause to those who live in far places. jeep transpo is not a joke, really. not that i ride to go to school, my dorm is just walking distance. *whew* but i have friends who live several kilometers away from school and pays 15 pesos to get to school and then when she gets in the classroom...apparently, the prof will start class next week, please be back on monday. *rolls eyes* duh.

the only prof that ever showed up is our Political Science prof. Sir Panes. now, lemme share. my Pol Sci class really started funny. Sir Panes, who is unknown to most of us since this is our first time to encounter him, entered the classroom. and those who are in the higher level -- we call them the upperclassmen, they are the 3rd year & 4th year students, in my case -- gasped. actually gasped. i started worrying because i've heard stories about a certain Sir Pacamalan who is a tough prof. i don't really mind if i have Sir Pacamalan as my prof. i've been through a lot of "terror" teachers...proud to say: so far, so good. *smiles* the worry came from the fact that i just don't want another D. no. way. the disappointment i've caused my parents...it was stupid of me to make them expect. oh well, all's done is done. *sighs* ANYWAY, right after class, i started asking people questions about who Sir Pacamalan is--how he looks and everything needed just to confirm the identity of the prof who made the upperclassmen gasp. he apparently did not introduce himself. conclusion: he heard the gasp. *lafs* he even joked about it and told some of the class to not worry because it's still adding-dropping week. Alhamdulillah, my friend Sam replied and described Sir Pacamalan...the description did not match. very good! because i really don't have any other schedule to transfer to anyway. it would be major conflict. *whew*

ANYWAY...again. *grins* Sir Panes seems to be a good one. he's smart. opinionated. animated! and well, present. *bleh* he actually gave us 3 chapters to read already. and tomorrow, we're gonna start with the recitations. pls pray for me. also for Sir Panes--that he will be kind to us tomorrow. *grins* right now, i'm waiting for my dorm mate to arrive...she's selling her Phil. Consti. copy for a cheaper price. *winx*

despite...

enrollment day. my patience got tested. thankfully, i passed. with friends to chat with, i passed. nyahaha. *bleh* spent three hours in front of the pc. got nothing to do. can't sleep. help. honestly, i'm not in the mood to start the second semester. not yet, at least. *lafs*

anyway, sem break was good. went through a lot of things. overall, i felt i didn't have a real break. *whew* time flies really fast. and i don't know where my thoughts seem to be coming from right now. sometimes, things get really complicated i just wish i'd evaporate. mom has had a lot of probs too. and the pressure on me is taking its toll. almost everybody's expecting so much. nothing new. sometimes you just have to accept things the way they are. but it's not a bad thing really. the expectations, i mean. the people are kind of one of the best reasons in my life. deep inside me, i know that no matter how hard i would try to win everybody's love, i know that no one can please everybody. i am not perfect but i strive hard to become a better person. okay. i seem to be blabbing again. usual. and oh...lemme share an excerpt from my so-called journal. found it cute. the best i've written, i guess. my pathetic attempts on being a writer. *lafs* again, i didn't know where it came from. it just went out. i wrote this after a day of being reminded of my prayers -- which, Astagfirullah-- i seem to be not completing and after receiving a text message from a friend.

"Life is short, live it to the fullest. True. But we often misinterpret this stuff. So we do things even if we know that they are bad. Or at least at the back of our minds, something tells us its just wrong. But because we are driven by that passion and thirst to live a full life, we do them anyway. And it's a stupid thing. Indeed, life can be short. But it's not a reason we should be going astray anytime we like. Who would want to leave behind a life misled? Nobody. Because this would mean a life half-lived. The wonders of the world are fleeting. In time, they all fade away. They may give you a moment of joy perhaps. But they don't give you the forever-abiding kind. Only Faith can give us that. It's the ultimate life support machine. We'd say if we hold on too much, it's gonna be pretty boring stuff -- too sentimental, too difficult, too different...and at times when we fail at things, it's gonna hurt...so we waver because we blame. But we forget that we do our own mistakes. We are guided but we fail to follow. All because we listen more to ourselves than to Him. Commitment may be hard. But it involves a process. And that process starts when we open ourselves to the truth...The only way to make life fair is to keep RIGHT."

and oh..aside from journal entries. i got busy with photoshop too. *squeals* Ramadhan is the month of giving and mercy, and during this month Allah blesses the believers with forgiveness and great reward.

This is a time to stop and contemplate, to look inwards and out, it is a time to set our goals. We should ask ourselves what we want to achieve this month, - something we will carry into our futures.

Achievement is accomplished by change. ‘How’ and ‘what’ we change are as important to consider as ‘when’ we change. Ramadhan gives us a huge opportunity to improve ourselves and gain rewards for our actions.

Just consider how precious time is. Our time when used well can gain us much reward, but when wasted we lose something of unimaginable value.

Therefore, whoever is merciful and giving in Ramadhan, Allah will be even more Merciful and Giving towards them and will bestow upon them countless bounties and blessings.
All praises to Allah (SWT), Lord of the worlds. As revealed in the Glorious Qur’an, "Oh you who believe, fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those who came before you that you may keep your duty to your Lord" 2:185.

There are many actions we can take during the month of Ramadhan which will benefit us immensely. One of these would be to take Sahoor (the pre-dawn meal) as there is great benefit in it. The greatest blessing of Sahoor may be that Allah engulfs those who partake in it with His Forgiveness, showers His Mercy on them, while His angels ask of Him to forgive and pardon them.

Reciting the Quran has much benefit as it was in this blessed month that the Qur’an was revealed to prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him).
"Verily! We have sent you (O Muhammad) with the Truth, a bearer of glad tidings and a warner; and there is not a nation but a warner has passed among them," The Holy Quran (35:24).

"Surely this Qur’an' guides to the way that is straightest and gives good tidings to the believers who do deeds of righteousness, that theirs shall be a great reward.” The Holy Quran (17 : 11).
The importance of the Qur’an cannot be presented in a few words. It is not just another book on the shelf, but it is the words of Allah, speaking to every one of us. It is direct contact with Allah Himself. The religion of Islam is not named after a person as in the case of Christianity which was named after Jesus Christ, Buddhism after Gotama Buddha, Confucianism after Confucius, and Marxism after Karl Marx. Nor was it named after a tribe like Judaism after the tribe of Judah and Hinduism after the Hindus. Islam is the true religion of "Allah" and as such, its name represents the central principle of Allah's "God's" religion; the total submission to the will of Allah "God". The Arabic word "Islam" means the submission or surrender of one's will to the only true god worthy of worship "Allah" and anyone who does so is termed a "Muslim", The word also implies "peace" which is the natural consequence of total submission to the will of Allah. Hence, it was not a new religion brought by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) I in Arabia in the seventh century, but only the true religion of Allah re-expressed in its final form.
Islam is the religion which was given to Adam, the first man and the first prophet of Allah, and it was the religion of all the prophets sent by Allah to mankind. The name of God's religion lslam was not decided upon by later generations of man. It was chosen by Allah Himself and clearly mentioned in His final revelation to man. In the final book of divine revelation, the Qur'aan, Allah states the following:
"This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion". (Soorah Al-Maa'idah 5:3)
"If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to Allah (God) never will It be accepted of Him" (Soorah Aal'imraan 3:85)
"Abraham was not a Jew nor Christian; but an upright Muslim." (Soorah Aal'imraan 3:67)
Nowhere in the Bible will you find Allah saying to Prophet Moses' people or their descendants that their religion is Judaism, nor to the followers of Christ that their religion is Christianity. In fact, Christ was not even his name, nor was it Jesus! The name "Christ" comes from the Greek word Christos which means the annointed. That is, Christ is a Greek translation of the Hebrew title "Messiah". The name "Jesus" on the other hand, is a latinized version of the Hebrew name Esau.
For simplicity's sake, I will however continue to refer to Prophet Esau (PBUH) as Jesus. As for his religion, it was what he called his followers to. Like the prophets before him, he called the people to surrender their will to the will of Allah; (which is Islam) and he warned them to stay away from the false gods of human imagination.
According to the New Testament, he taught his followers to pray as follows: "Yours will be done on earth as it is in Heaven".

*source: http://www.islamworld.net/true.html

i'm back!

hi. hi. *smiles* it's third day of classes. *gasps* can't believe i'm 2nd year already! time flies really fast, huh?! anyway, i can't talk much right now. so i can't share my summer story now. so much to do. can you believe that?! it's still the first week and i'm so damn loaded with requirements...*sigh* but it's okay. i'm having fun with my classes. old and new people. *grins* i miss home though. maybe because i have been like "home-bound" all summer. but even if i was "home-bound", summer was way way way surprising! *winks*

hey.

will soon be on blog-leave...

still don't know for how long.

why? *lafs* but really, i'm serious. things have been bad lately and then there are things which can get your blood on their boiling point and your nerves on their melting point...and somehow that can force your mouth to say the words which shouldn't come out. i don't want that to happen. and yes...it's part of my working on my faith. *smiles*

anyway...so wazzup with my life? nothing much. it's the same: it's getting better, harder and all the comparatives leading to superlatives...practically, it remains to be a life lived in a world full of deceptions...an examination on whether i'll be deserving to go to Heaven or hell. that may sound like a childlike "notion" to you...but it's t-r-u-e. yes...another thing i learned from studying my faith. *smiles* actually, i learned that one from Dr. Maulana Faisal. i have been spending most of my time right now juggling responsibilities. which i have once sworn to tore away from. but i guess multitasking is one hobby that would never never ever leave me. *goshes* but it does come in handy and very much useful. i get to meet new friends, jump into experiences which i would have never thought of jumping into, and learn a lot of things. seriously...there is much more to learn from conversations than the four-walled classroom where you either sit and listen or you sit and talk with your seatmate. i would really love to attend a class with socrates. *grins* i really am! *ahem* am i going too far? And then second semester came: i enrolled in MRS (muslim religious studies), got to spend more time with my muslim friends, attended Taleems (a group discussion about islam), started appreciating my faith, felt the importance of prayer, started wearing the "kumbong" or veil, and found myself deeply happy with my faith. i'm on my way...i've never felt so happier in my whole life.

seryoso 'yon. hehe. maniwala kayo. i'm just so happy. i wanna share it to the world. *smiles*

superb

plenty of reasons why i'm happy...

* i loved the fact that i woke up today at the sound of the raindrops.

* i got to finish my laundry. yep. i did laundry even if it was raining! hehe.

* we all got a 10point plus from our english teacher. chweet.

* i survived a "major" stomach ache at lunch.

* i rode a rela which was super slow that its "speed" is enough to get me 30 minutes late to my P.E. class.

* thankfully, that rela was sure about his "speed" because by the time i arrived at the school gate, i saw ___. weeeeh! hehe.

* i walked the distance from the school front gate and "run-climb" the stairs to the ss top floor building in 3 minutes! haha! so that made me look super pale by the time i slipped in line for my P.E. attendance.

* i was not marked late for p.e. bleh.

* i just learned a lot of things about my faith from a talim, which i attended with my muslim sisters. Smith, is usually used for consciousness among women around the world. It is a contemporary poem--not following rhyming schemes, but has a rhythm. Here, Dickinson uses a metaphor, comparing hope to a bird. In the first stanza, she first defines hope in a general form—referring to it as a thing. In the third line of the first stanza: “And sings the tune—without the words,” ; this stresses out the point that hope is a feeling. It is not always literally expressed with words.

In the second stanza, the first and second line speaks of a bad weather. This could be compared to bad moments in our lives. And it is usually in these moments that hope tastes the sweetest for these are the moments when we need it the most.

It is the same thing with the third stanza, the phrases “chillest land” and “strangest sea” represent obstacles. The last two lines start with “yet”. This gives the reader a chance to figure out the connection it makes to the preceding lines. The word “crumb”, here, may represent a reward or a payback as to what a “bird” (in this case is hope) may ask in return for the support offered by it.

ang epekto ng mga agila

i was so dead fetch last night. i was super out of my mind.

starstruck. dumbfounded. going home beyond my self-stated curfew.

the game was superb. i got a picture with LA Tenorio! *big grin* stacy got a chance to have a very short conversation with coach norman black while i was just smiling at coach and listening to their small chit-chat. silly me. but hey what can i do? i was super tameme. and when kramer passed by and looked at us, i totally forgot how to put my cellphone on. i wanted a picture with him but he was so cute, i went blank about putting my phone on! i almost asked joey (my XA blockmate) to introduce me and some of my friends to doug because it so happened that their parents are close friends and that they know each other. but i didn't get on with that one for a certain reason i don't think is worth mentioning. quimson was so cute too. i took several pics of him using sweet's digi cam and he kept on smiling. wow. laterre was super nice too. when i asked for his autograph and we both didn't have a pen, he just put his arms around me and said, "picture nalang tayo." *delightful squeal* jose antonio reyes! haha. ang cute niya. he was shy but he smiled and waved pa rin. ken barracoso was also very friendly. he was the first one to sign my hanky! weeeh! plus, he was super cute. chinito. hehe. tapos si intal!!! my gosh. jc intal. he was super nice. he signed each paper handed to him. he had his own pen ready. tapos he says thank you and shakes the hands of those who congratulate him. including me! *delightful squeal* i don't have a picture with intal though because he was the pinaka-dinudumog aside from tenorio. but i got lucky about a pic with tenorio kasi stacy, leigh and i got a chance to see him and the other players before the game. i got to shake hands with most of the players, 'yong iba di ko kilala. actually, the faces of tenorio, intal, and kramer are the only faces which are known to me even before i got to see them in person. and when i finally got to see them yesterday, i asked stacy (who happens to be a blue eagle fanatic ever since the uaap started, unlike me--i was and still am an archer. hehe.) who is this and that because they were such great players. i just have to get their names. *sheepish grin* to tell you the truth, they were the first famous personalities whom i got to shake hands with, picture with, and asked an autograph for...kaya may hang-over pa rin ako. haha! binalewala ko na ang hiya ko kagabi! *laugh*

my brothers are gonna be squealing with delight the moment i get home mamaya and show them the pics. they'll be so happy, i just know it. lalo na pag nalaman nilang si tenorio ang nakasama ko sa picture! When he got back, he was complaining that the storeroom was really filthy and that he had noticed dried mouse/rat droppings in some areas.

A couple of days later, he started to feel like he was coming down with a stomach flu, complained of sore joints and headaches, and began to vomit. He went to bed and never really got up again. Within two days he was severely ill and weak. His blood sugar count was down to 66, and his face and eyeballs were ye! llow. He was rushed to the emergency at Pali-Momi, where he was diagnosed to be suffering from massive organ failure.

He died shortly before midnight.

No one would have made the connection between his job and his death, had it not been for a doctor who specifically asked if he had been in a warehouse or exposed to dried rat/mouse droppings at any time.

They said there is a virus (much like the Hanta virus) that lives in dried rat and mouse droppings. Once dried, these droppings are like dust and can easily be breathed in or ingested if a person does not wear protective gear or fails to wash face and hands thoroughly.

An autopsy was performed on the clerk to verify the doctor's suspicions. This is why it is extremely important to ALWAYS carefully rinse off the tops of canned sodas or foods, and to wipe off pasta packaging, cereal boxes, and so on. Almost everything you buy in a supermarket was stored in a warehouse at one time or another, and stores themselves often have rodents. Most of us remember to wash vegetables and fruits but never think of boxes and cans.

The ugly truth is, even the most modern, upper-class, super store has rats and mice. And their warehouse most assuredly does! Whenever you buy any canned soft drink, please make sure that you wash the top with running water and soap or, if that is not available, drink with a straw.

The investigation of soda cans by the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta discovered that the tops of soda cans can be encrusted with dried rat's urine, which is so toxic it can be lethal. Canned drinks and other foodstuffs are stored in warehouses and containers that are usually infested with rodents, and then they get transported to retail outlets without being properly cleaned.

why we believe that Islam is the True Religion

Scientists Comment on the Scientific Miracles in the Holy Quran

The following are some comments of scientists on the scientific miracles in the Holy Quran:

"Mohammad had divine inspiration or revelation", Dr. T.V.N Persaud
1) Dr. T. V. N. Persaud is Professor of Anatomy, Professor of Pediatrics and Child Health, and Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. There, he was the Chairman of the Department of Anatomy for 16 years. He is well-known in his field. He is the author or editor of 22 textbooks and has published over 181 scientific papers. In 1991, he received the most distinguished award presented in the field of anatomy in Canada, the J.C.B. Grant Award from the Canadian Association of Anatomists. When he was asked about the scientific miracles in the Quran which he has researched, he stated the following: “The way it was explained to me is that Muhammad was a very ordinary man. He could not read, didn’t know [how] to write. In fact, he was an illiterate. And we’re talking about twelve [actually about fourteen] hundred years ago. You have someone illiterate making profound pronouncements and statements and that are amazingly accurate about scientific nature. And I personally can’t see how this could be a mere chance. There are too many accuracies and, like Dr. Moore, I have no difficulty in my mind that this is a divine inspiration or revelation which led him to these statements.”

Precision and accuracy of sayings of the Prophet Muhammad about birth of child is correct.",Dr. Joe Leigh Simpson.
2) Dr. Joe Leigh Simpson is the Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Professor of Molecular and Human Genetics at the Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, USA. Formerly, he was Professor of Ob-Gyn and the Chairman of the Department of Ob-Gyn at the University of Tennessee, Memphis, Tennessee, USA. He was also the President of the American Fertility Society. He has received many awards, including the Association of Professors of Obstetrics and Gynecology Public Recognition Award in 1992. Professor Simpson studied the following two sayings of the Prophet Muhammad : {In every one of you, all components of your creation are collected together in your mother’s womb by forty days...} {If forty-two nights have passed over the embryo, God sends an angel to it, who shapes it and creates its hearing, vision, skin, flesh, and bones....}He studied these two sayings of the Prophet Muhammad extensively, noting that the first forty days constitute a clearly distinguishable stage of embryo-genesis. He was particularly impressed by the absolute precision and accuracy of those sayings of the Prophet Muhammad . Then, during one conference, he gave the following opinion: “So that the two hadeeths (the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad ) that have been noted provide us with a specific time table for the main embryological development before forty days. Again, the point has been made, I think, repeatedly by other speakers this morning: these hadeeths could not have been obtained on the basis of the scientific knowledge that was available [at] the time of their writing . . . . It follows, I think, that not only there is no conflict between genetics and religion but, in fact, religion can guide science by adding revelation to some of the traditional scientific approaches, that there exist statements in the Quran shown centuries later to be valid, which support knowledge in the Quran having been derived from God.”

"I found a truth about the creation of embryo in Quran", Dr. E. Marshall.
3) Dr. E. Marshall Johnson is Professor Emeritus of Anatomy and Developmental Biology at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. There, for 22 years he was Professor of Anatomy, the Chairman of the Department of Anatomy, and the Director of the Daniel Baugh Institute. He was also the President of the Teratology Society. He has authored more than 200 publications. In 1981, during the Seventh Medical Conference in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, Professor Johnson said in the presentation of his research paper: “Summary: The Quran describes not only the development of external form, but emphasizes also the internal stages, the stages inside the embryo, of its creation and development, emphasizing major events recognized by contemporary science.”
Also he said: “As a scientist, I can only deal with things which I can specifically see. I can understand embryology and developmental biology. I can understand the words that are translated to me from the Quran. As I gave the example before, if I were to transpose myself into that era, knowing what I knew today and describing things, I could not describe the things which were described. I see no evidence for the fact to refute the concept that this individual, Muhammad, had to be developing this information from some place. So I see nothing here in conflict with the concept that divine intervention was involved in what he was able to write.”

"Quran gives correct Information",
Dr. William W. Hay
4) Dr. William W. Hay is a well-known marine scientist. He is Professor of Geological Sciences at the University of Colorado, Boulder, Colorado, USA. He was for Atmospheric Science at the University of Miami, Miami, Florida, USA. After a discussion with Professor Hay about the Quran’s mention of recently discovered facts on seas, he said: “I find it very interesting that this sort of information is in the ancient scriptures of the Holy Quran, and I have no way of knowing where they would come from, but I think it is extremely interesting that they are there and that this work is going on to discover it, the meaning of some of the passages.” And when he was asked about the source of the Quran, he replied: “Well, I would think it must be the divine being.”

5) Dr. Gerald C. Goeringer is Course Director and Associate Professor of Medical Embryology at the Department of Cell Biology, School of Medicine, Georgetown University, Washington, DC, USA. During the Eighth Saudi Medical Conference in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Professor Goeringer stated the following in the presentation of his research paper: “In a relatively few aayahs (Quranic verses) is contained a rather comprehensive description of human development from the time of commingling of the gametes through organogenesis. No such distinct and complete record of human development, such as classification, terminology, and description, existed previously. In most, if not all, instances, this description antedates by many centuries the recording of the various stages of human embryonic and fetal development recorded in the traditional scientific literature.”

6) Dr. Yoshihide Kozai is Professor Emeritus at Tokyo University, Hongo, Tokyo, Japan, and was the Director of the National Astronomical Observatory, Mitaka, Tokyo, Japan. He said: “I am very much impressed by finding true astronomical facts in [the] Quran, and for us the modern astronomers have been studying very small pieces of the universe. We’ve concentrated our efforts for understanding of [a] very small part. Because by using telescopes, we can see only very few parts [of] the sky without thinking [about the] whole universe. So, by reading [the] Quran and by answering to the questions, I think I can find my future way for investigation of the universe.”

"Theories admit, La ilaha illa Allah ",Professor Tejatat Tejasen.
7) Professor Tejatat Tejasen is the Chairman of the Department of Anatomy at Chiang Mai University, Chiang Mai, Thailand. Previously, he was the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the same university. During the Eighth Saudi Medical Conference in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Professor Tejasen stood up and said: “During the last three years, I became interested in the Quran . . . . >From my study and what I have learned from this conference, I believe that everything that has been recorded in the Quran fourteen hundred years ago must be the truth, that can be proved by the scientific means. Since the Prophet Muhammad could neither read nor write, Muhammad must be a messenger who relayed this truth, which was revealed to him as an enlightenment by the one who is eligible [as the] creator. This creator must be God. Therefore, I think this is the time to say La ilaha illa Allah, there is no god to worship except Allah (God), Muhammadur rasoolu Allah, Muhammad is Messenger (Prophet) of Allah (God). Lastly, I must congratulate formerly the Dean of the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Muhammad is Messenger (Prophet) of Allah (God).

Lastly, I must congratulate for the excellent and highly successful arrangement for this conference . . . . I have gained not only from the scientific point of view and religious point of view but also the great chance of meeting many well-known scientists and making many new friends among the participants. The most precious thing of all that I have gained by coming to this place is La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammadur rasoolu Allah, and to have become a Muslim.”
After all these examples we have seen about the scientific miracles in the Holy Quran and all these scientists’ comments on this, let us ask ourselves these questions:

Could it be a coincidence that all this recently discovered scientific information from different fields was mentioned in the Quran, which was revealed fourteen centuries ago?

Could this Quran have been authored by Muhammad or by any other human being?

The only possible answer is that this Quran must be the literal word of God, revealed by Him.

--note from kULit: this was forwarded to me by my uncle. I am a Muslim. Not much of the traditional one but more of the Traditional person. (if you've read The Alchemist, then you know what i mean.) I am not trying to convert you. I just want to let you know about certain things about our religion. we are not the mean terrorists that the media unintentionally (sadly sometimes intentionally) tries to convey to you. just saying out my peace. It is all up to all of you on how you will try (if you will try) to reflect on what you have just read.--

magical

saturday drained me out...but pasted a smile on my face.

i just finished watching Harry Potter: Goblet of Fire and just one word...SUPER.

it's definitely a must-see. i haven't read the fourth HP book yet, but i completely understood the story because really...the movie's so great! the new actors are so exceptional...not to mention cute! (watch out for the hottie who plays victor krun; that new girl katie leung is cute too) and right now, i'm taking guesses at what will happen with Harry...not beautiful guesses but justifiable. you have to watch it...i order you! hehe.

aside from waiting for my friends to finish watching the movie for the whole 3 hours (they came in the cinema after our turn--you see, the cinema was way full!), i bought The Little Prince by Antoine Saint-Exupery. actually, i've already read it when i was eight or nine. it was the first book my dad gave me. but one of my cousins borrowed it and the book never returned. since the known masterpiece is celebrating its century-old success, they had some new copies printed in colored pages. i was so happy. and though i'm tight on budget, i bought it anyway. i can't let it pass! The two thousand hours are spread out over four years. You spend the rest of the time sleeping, partying, and trying to get dates.

Basically, you learn two kinds of things in college:
1. Things you will need to know in later life (two hours).
2. Things you will not need to know in later life (1,998 hours).

The latter are the things you learn in classes whose names end in -ology, -osophy, -istry, -ics, and so on. The idea is, you memorize these things, then write them down in little exam books, then forget them. If you fail to forget them, you become a professor and have to stay in college for the rest of your life.

After you've been in college for a year or so, you're supposed to choose a major, which is the subject you intend to memorize and forget the most things about. Here is a very important piece of advice: be sure to choose a major that does not involve Known Facts and Right Answers. This means you must not major in mathematics, physics, biology, or chemistry, or geology because these subjects involve actual facts.

If, for example, you major in mathematics, you're going to wander into class one day and the professor will say: "Define the cosine integer of the quadrant of a rhomboid binary axis, and extrapolate your result to five significant vertices." If you don't come up with exactly the answer the professor has in mind, you fail.

The same is true of chemistry: if you write in your exam book that carbon and hydrogen combine to form oak, your professor will flunk you. He wants you to come up with the same answer he and all the other chemists have agreed on. Scientists are extremely snotty about this.
So you should major in subjects like English, philosophy, psychology, and sociology -- subjects in which nobody really understands what anybody else is talking about, and which involve virtually no actual facts. I attended classes in all these subjects, so I'll give you a quick overview of each:

ENGLISH: This involves writing papers about long books you have read little snippets of just before class. Here is a tip on how to get good grades on your English papers: Never say anything about a book that anybody with any common sense would say. For example, suppose you are studying Moby Dick. Anybody with any common sense would say that Moby Dick is a big white whale, since the characters in the book refer to it as a big white whale roughly eleven thousand times. So in your paper, you say Moby Dick is actually the Republic of Ireland. Your professor, who is sick to death of reading papers and never liked Moby Dick anyway, will think you are enormously creative. If you can regularly come up with lunatic interpretations of simple stories, you should major in English.

PHILOSOPHY: Basically, this involves sitting in a room and deciding there is no such thing as reality and then going to lunch. You should major in philosophy if you plan to take a lot of drugs.

PSYCHOLOGY: This involves talking about rats and dreams. Psychologists are obsessed with rats and dreams. I once spent an entire semester training a rat to punch little buttons in a certain sequence, then training my roommate to do the same thing. The rat learned much faster. My roommate is now a doctor. If you like rats or dreams, and above all if you dream about rats, you should major in psychology.

SOCIOLOGY: For sheer lack of intelligibility, sociology is far and away the number one subject. I sat through hundreds of hours of sociology courses, and read gobs of sociology writing, and I never once heard or read a coherent statement. This is because sociologists want to be considered scientists, so they spend most of their time translating simple, obvious observations into scientific-sounding code. If you plan to major in sociology, you'll have to learn to do the same thing. For example, suppose you have observed that children cry when they fall down. You should write: "Methodological observation of the sociometrical behavior tendencies of prematurated isolates indicates that a causal relationship exists between groundward tropism and lachrimatory behavior forms." If you can keep this up for fifty or sixty pages, you will get a large government grant.

Unknown
----dagdag ko diyan (especially for my dear health science students----

MEDICINE. If you like slicing up frogs, cats, sharks and everything else that is presumed to have had life, take medicine. But first you have to memorize nerves (and drink so much coffee till you get nervous), differentiate lateral from occipital (till you turn 'mental--case, that is), make staph aureus cultures in gelatinous media and/or differentiate them by staining technique, then use numbers to determine how fast these guys multiply to be called epidemic/endemic, then proceed to cut up fellow human beings as you munch your lunch sandwich, learn to know who is sick or well by palpating, auscultating, etc and make differential diagnoses of coughs, fevers, chest sounds, heart murmurs, etc., till you yourself catch the virus If you like to spend your family fortune but promise to pay them back in 20-25 years, take medicine. But of course the shorter route to repay them and to get rich yourself is by dropping out of med school or finishing it ala Intarmed, and by taking up nursing to go abroad taking care of sick old Canadians, Americans, Brits, abandoned by their thoughtful children. Or you can just walk the beaches of Puerto Galera or Boracay in your cutest (smallest) attire and pretending to like a vacationing bum. Go ahead and see the world. Make my day-- and don't come back. Please lang.

---- xxxx --- xxxx

Once, a student sat in my class and proceeded to become a speech therapist. Then I saw him in all-white doc's clothes taking a quick lunch in cheap place near where I live. I saw him again last June and he said that he and his wife were leaving in September for London to work as nurses.--this, of course is no lie.

---------xxxx---------xxxx---------

Glad to do a friend a favor
Doesn't cost me to be nice
But nothing gets you nothing
Everything has got a little price!

--"Master of the House,"
Les MisRoli Talampas
DSS, CAS, UP Manila
Telefax (00 63 2)524-1556

ang bahay ni kuya

i watch Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) every night. and i can definitely say that even if it airs at a time when i, most likely, am a sleepyhead, it is totally worth watching--keeping me awake, engrossed to the haps at the Big Brother house.

PBB becomes phenomenon the moment promotions for the said show began last summer (remember the ad asking you "gusto mo bang makita sa TV 24/7 for 100 days?"). since then, Filipinos nationwide & worldwide (TFC subscribers) manage to stay glued to their seats watching the "phenomenon."

however, just recently, intrigues and criticisms hit the phenomenon...questioning it's reality streak and morality purposes.

anti-PBB says: "hindi 'yan reality show kasi...

...edited na ang nakikita ng mga viewers!"
--> ever heard of entertainment value...talagang dadaan 'yan sa editing kasi importante ang entertainment value. ikaw? gusto mo bang tingnan ang mga housemates doing nothing interesting? boring, di ba? kaya nga selected scenes lang. isa pa, if you want the full show, pwede ka namang magsubscribe sa Outbox 24/7...

...may mga plastik sa mga housemates!"
--> eh sa plastik sila. pinili nilang maging plastik eh. realidad 'yon. may mga taong plastik.

...scripted daw 'yan!"

i am a 16-year-old college student who, like everybody else who think that teenagers like me don't care about the news, actually cares about the news. i've heard about the works on GMA's impeachment case sine once upon a time. Nakakasawa na nga eh.

everyday, as the newspaper boy shows to me the day's top stories, there's always a story about the impeachment. this makes me wonder, "aren't there any other news in this country that is deserving--perhaps even more deserving--of the headline treatment in the newspapers?" ; "will this impeachment really lead us to something?" ; "are we not wasting time on the case?"...

everyday, as i walk my way to school, i see different faces but as always, hear the same cry.

there are the young jeepney conductors calling passengers aboard. most of them are in their teens: some are my age, some are even younger. as i look at them, i could not help but acknowledge the realization how much these young boys wish to wear school uniforms, carry school books & be the one riding the jeepney to get to school.

and then there's the old man sitting on the sidewalk wearing a very thing t-shirt barely enough to cover his bone-and-skin body from the fickle weather. where on earth are his "thankful" sons and daughters? or if he doesn't have one...doesn't he still deserve a home where he can spend the rest of his days?

moreover, little kids who should be in school, who should be given care & attention at home are roaming the streets--begging for alms, others selling whatever they could sell--all desperate for survival. what is worse is the fact that some of these kids are controlled by syndicates and all that they earn go to these bad guys.

these, ladies & gentlemen, should be making the headlines. not the impeachment case, not GMA's side of the story & definitely not the frappado-frippido drama in Congress.

those of you who say that the impeachment must proceed may reason out that the aformentioned pictures are your purpose for your persistent shout to oust GMA. But don't you even realize how hopeless the filed case against GMA is?

first, let us say that the call GMA made to Garci is indeed illegal. that is said without certainty since the said "hello garci" controversy is still not proven illegal even though GMA made a public apology. (the action could only be considered illegal if it is proven that the call was made before the canvassing time was over.)

yes. we were taught that lying, cheating, or any form of betrayal is bad. but we were also taught that forgiveness, no matter how big the pain inflicted is, is the greatest action one can ever learn to do for from it emerges the reason for peace & love. as corny as it may sound, this is a vital point we all must seek to understand. we're all the same--human beings who make mistakes & still end up loved & forgiven by God. God forgives & understands those who sin against Him. can't we do the same to our fellow beings, who like us also make mistakes?...some of you may agree, some of you may think otherwise...most probably using the economic crisis facing the country today to oust GMA. Really people of the Philippines, are you angry or is the blame-it-to-the-government concept taking you over again?

just a point on that "blamey" attitude. just because majority of the people are hungry, that doesn't give anyone all the right to push people out of their work way. that is, in one way or another, unfair. maybe it's time that we also acknowledge our part in the present situation. aminin man natin o hindi, kahit saan ka lumingon, may makikita kang Juan Tamad, Juan Hala-sige-sa-paggawa-ng-bata-eh-wala-namang-ipapakain, o di kaya'y Juan Laklak. We all must realize that it is not only the government who should work for the betterment of the nation but also the people.

looking at the filed case in a view according to the laws...i do not understand if Lozano was playing stupid or if he really is a fool. it seems that he was sleeping in class when his professor discussed about the 6 grounds for impeachment. tell me, is it right to file the case stating only one ground when the other 5 grounds, according to your own sources, could be used? that is what happened with this case. and that is one of the biggest reasons why the impeachment case is weak. even the "hello garci" tape could not be used as evidence in court since it is inadmissible. the witnesses to GMA's jueteng scandal cannot testify in court because the juetent scandals were not filed. what is worse is that an already-filed impeachment case cannot be amended. and no matter how the prosecution will point all these excluded cases during the proceedings (if there'll be proceedings) it will remain irrelevant and will weigh zero on the decision.

the time and money the congress is spending on the case (even their snacks are specially & expensively catered!) is all going to waste. instead of spending their time fighting about a case which is unsure, they could spend all these to working on the economy, helping the people of the Philippines, doing what is good according to the dictates of their position & conscience. isn't that why they are seated in congress complete with a respectable title and a damn good salary?

forget about Gloria (if she really did an action against the laws, let her conscience haunt her, that is after all, the only law above all laws), think about the millions and millions of other people who need more attention & time.

a person who took, takes and will take the seat of presidency was, is, and will never solely be the nation. the people--they are the nation.

newbie coming through

my exams are finally over and i could never be happpier. the past few days has left me exhausted with all the requirements, long tests, papers, exams...etc. etc. etc.

anyway, just thought of making a new blog here in blogspot. i actually have one already (more personal) at xanga. but i thought of making my own spot at the net where i can voice out everything that i want to voice out. the kind of journal that's not like a diary. so here goes.

nangungulit lang po. =)
