superb

plenty of reasons why i'm happy...

* i loved the fact that i woke up today at the sound of the raindrops.

* i got to finish my laundry. yep. i did laundry even if it was raining! hehe.

* we all got a 10point plus from our english teacher. chweet.

* i survived a "major" stomach ache at lunch.

* i rode a rela which was super slow that its "speed" is enough to get me 30 minutes late to my P.E. class.

* thankfully, that rela was sure about his "speed" because by the time i arrived at the school gate, i saw ___. weeeeh! hehe.

* i walked the distance from the school front gate and "run-climb" the stairs to the ss top floor building in 3 minutes! haha! so that made me look super pale by the time i slipped in line for my P.E. attendance.

* i was not marked late for p.e. bleh.

* i just learned a lot of things about my faith from a talim, which i attended with my muslim sisters. (a seminar or talk about islam)

* we had no chemistry class. good because i haven't finished our take-home exercises! haha!

* i had a "pictorial" session with my muslim sisters: fatz, ralyn and lay.

* we (fatz, ralyn and lay) went book-hunting at the american surplus.

* i learned more about my faith at the MRS film showing at the little theater.

* i had dinner with danna, chin, vic, jams, nina and stacy.

* i had a blast at M2 with danna, chin, vic.

* and i'm posting this one as if i don't have a 7:30am nstp party tomorrow.

superb.

for every woman

For every woman who is tired of acting weak when she knows she is strong, there is a man who is tired of appearing strong when he feels vulnerable.

For every woman who is tired of acting dumb, there is a man who is burdened with the constant expectation of "knowing everything."

For every woman who is tired of being called "an emotional female,"
there is a man who is denied the right to weep and to be gentle.

For every woman who is called unfeminine when she competes,
there is a man for whom competition is the only way to prove his masculinity.

For every woman who is tired of being a sex object,
there is a man who must worry about his potency.

For every woman who feels "tied down" by her children,
there is a man who is denied the full pleasures of shared parenthood.

For every woman who is denied meaningful employment or equal pay,
there is a man who must bear full financial responsibility for another human being.

For every woman who was not taught the intricacies of an automobile,
there is a man who was not taught the satisfactions of cooking.

For every woman who takes a step toward her own liberation,
there is a man who finds the way to freedom has been made a little easier.

Analysis:

This poem, written in 1973 by Nancy R. Smith, is usually used for consciousness among women around the world. It is a contemporary poem--not following rhyming schemes, but has a rhythm. The poet's approach is very literal and the poem can be easily understood.

hope is the thing with feathers

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune--without the words,
And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I've heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

Analysis:

This poem by Dickinson is one of my personal favorites. Here, Dickinson uses a metaphor, comparing hope to a bird. In the first stanza, she first defines hope in a general form—referring to it as a thing. In the third line of the first stanza: “And sings the tune—without the words,” ; this stresses out the point that hope is a feeling. It is not always literally expressed with words.

In the second stanza, the first and second line speaks of a bad weather. This could be compared to bad moments in our lives. And it is usually in these moments that hope tastes the sweetest for these are the moments when we need it the most.

It is the same thing with the third stanza, the phrases “chillest land” and “strangest sea” represent obstacles. The last two lines start with “yet”. This gives the reader a chance to figure out the connection it makes to the preceding lines. The word “crumb”, here, may represent a reward or a payback as to what a “bird” (in this case is hope) may ask in return for the support offered by it.

ang epekto ng mga agila

i was so dead fetch last night. i was super out of my mind.

starstruck. dumbfounded. going home beyond my self-stated curfew.

the game was superb. i got a picture with LA Tenorio! *big grin* stacy got a chance to have a very short conversation with coach norman black while i was just smiling at coach and listening to their small chit-chat. silly me. but hey what can i do? i was super tameme. and when kramer passed by and looked at us, i totally forgot how to put my cellphone on. i wanted a picture with him but he was so cute, i went blank about putting my phone on! i almost asked joey (my XA blockmate) to introduce me and some of my friends to doug because it so happened that their parents are close friends and that they know each other. but i didn't get on with that one for a certain reason i don't think is worth mentioning. quimson was so cute too. i took several pics of him using sweet's digi cam and he kept on smiling. wow. laterre was super nice too. when i asked for his autograph and we both didn't have a pen, he just put his arms around me and said, "picture nalang tayo." *delightful squeal* jose antonio reyes! haha. ang cute niya. he was shy but he smiled and waved pa rin. ken barracoso was also very friendly. he was the first one to sign my hanky! weeeh! plus, he was super cute. chinito. hehe. tapos si intal!!! my gosh. jc intal. he was super nice. he signed each paper handed to him. he had his own pen ready. tapos he says thank you and shakes the hands of those who congratulate him. including me! *delightful squeal* i don't have a picture with intal though because he was the pinaka-dinudumog aside from tenorio. but i got lucky about a pic with tenorio kasi stacy, leigh and i got a chance to see him and the other players before the game. i got to shake hands with most of the players, 'yong iba di ko kilala. actually, the faces of tenorio, intal, and kramer are the only faces which are known to me even before i got to see them in person. and when i finally got to see them yesterday, i asked stacy (who happens to be a blue eagle fanatic ever since the uaap started, unlike me--i was and still am an archer. hehe.) who is this and that because they were such great players. i just have to get their names. *sheepish grin* to tell you the truth, they were the first famous personalities whom i got to shake hands with, picture with, and asked an autograph for...kaya may hang-over pa rin ako. haha! binalewala ko na ang hiya ko kagabi! *laugh*

my brothers are gonna be squealing with delight the moment i get home mamaya and show them the pics. they'll be so happy, i just know it. lalo na pag nalaman nilang si tenorio ang nakasama ko sa picture! yahoo!

you see. my close friends would be totally "hai naku. si hanna talaga" when they read this. you see, hindi pa si yeo 'yong nakita ko kahapon. ano nalang kaya kung sila Yeo?! wweeeeehee!

and oh, have i mentioned that i was also a bit messed-up with dates kahapon (i mean a calendar date ha?! ikaw jud!) i thought it's a 3 already, turns out 2 pa pala ng disyembre! tapos i forgot my circle number pa.
hai naku.
ito na nga talaga ang epekto ng mga agila.
*big grin doesn't fade*
